THE ACTION: Kyle Rush is a professional thief. But he doesn't just steal typical items. Rush dabbles in the occult, the off kilter, the odd little relics that never make front page news. This time....Kyle has bitten off more than he can chew. When he is hired by a mysterious man known as Dr. Montorio, he is sent on an odyssey that will cost the life of his fiancée' Sonja--his partner in crime. The scene of the crime is the Mozikel Art Museum in South Africa. The prize: a mysterious text known as the LIBER MALORUM. A book shrouded in secrecy and legendary horror. What is known is that the book can turn the dead into supernatural killing machines. When the heist goes bad, Montorio gets away with the book, and Kyle is left with regrets, and a vendetta: Get the book, and then get revenge. In a bizarre twist of fate, Kyle is thrown into the mix with a martial arts expert and former covert operative named Matthias Locke. Locke is so troubled by his past life--and his accidental shooting of a child, he has given up all violence and converted to Buddhism--and after one year in China at the Shaolin Temple, he is now a full fledged monk. Amazingly, the forces of nature and perhaps a higher power, place the book into the hands of Locke. To add tension to these events, Montorio reappears with a band of half dead killers known as THE MANDRAKES. Their goal: Get the book and kill all who stand in their way...especially Rush and Locke. | THE STORY: History tells us that in ancient Macedonia, at the behest of Alexander the Great, a group of spiritualists known as Magians composed a book of divine spiritual power. Instead, they ended up creating a plague…a book so evil, that merely by reading certain passages one could be possessed by demons. This book was one of many powerful spiritual books that the Vatican outlawed. It is said that among the many historical figures who used this book, Roger Bacon the controversial Franciscan, renowned as a philosopher, alchemist and occultist, used it to converse with demons and force them to grant him mystical powers. As a result, the book enabled him to become the greatest wizard of his time. It is believed that those who used this powerful book without the proper restraint became demons themselves. History may soon record the final chapter of man’s downfall as words spoken from this book of evil…The Liber Malorum. |
