Lee was part of the black filmmaker foundation, and one of the first filmmakers to be presented at their New York City film showcase. Lee has had films screened at venues like The Chicago International Film Festival, and The San Francisco Eye Music Festival. He has also been a guest lecturer at Sinclair Community College and Clark State University. Lee's track record of major releases includes Treasure of The Ninja (Self distributed 1984), Time To Get Right (BET video, 1991), Edge of Tolerance (Distributed nationally by Tapeworm Video, 2000.), Room 13: The Terrorist Project (Distributed Internationally by Indieflix.Com, 2003), Soulripperz (Distributed Internationally by Indieflix.com, 2004), CODE: BLACK (Worldwide distribution by York Entertainment, 2007), and Demons Rising (In post production, distribution pending). Lee has teamed with The Dream Depot, to bring BANGIN' to the screen. William Lee, writer, producer and director has created another action masterpiece, but this time with a character driven script sure to create interest and controversy. "We've all seen injustice in this world, and have often questioned our own relevance in life. How many times have we asked-'Wow, how could God let that happen?'. Some of us have faith and accept things as they are. Others wonder, what if?--what of God actually finally got fed up with our actions on this planet, and sent us one final chance to get it right." This then is what Bangin' is about. After her Iraqi war veteran fiancée' returns home, Kyiera Stone, an unassuming city girl trapped by gang violence in her neighborhood, decides to help him in his fight against local drug gangs. Their concept for a "ghetto's Most Wanted TV show" is a major success. With this success, comes anger from the local gang kingpins. A plan is hatched, and the woman , her fiancée' and all the participants in the anti drug program are horrifically tortured and killed. The gangsters have won again. Or so it seems. In a major twist to the typical urban film, the woman arrives in the midway point between life and death. She is given a new life, and a mission: Kyiera Noble has been hired as an assassin by the creator of our universe! This is a film that challenges widely held ethical, moral and spiritual belief systems, while providing the same high octane action scenes William lee has become noted for. The action begins in fall of 2008! |
